Dear Jimbo: Please turn to page 2 of your playbook.

So, the last couple of weeks have been extremely long, difficult and tiring.  And this coming week will be extremely intense as well.  Lots of things that I must do — and quite frankly, I don’t want to do any of them; however, I’ve no choice nor voice in the matter(s) — and so,  I’ll just push through it all and hope for the very, very best.  If you pray — prayers would be good … now and for the long haul.

I’m still on my journey to happiness; however, every so often you really hit a spot and it’s really hard to go around, over or under it … so, as I said, you have to push through it and hope for the best. 😉  I feel confident that I’ll be fine, but sometimes … confidence is overrated.

So, when you’re on your road back to happiness, there are usually a handful of things that make you happy.  One of mine is college football season and of course, my FSU Seminoles.  I am 1000% a Seminole and love, love, love, love, love my FSU teams – especially football; however,   I am so disgusted with FSU’s loss to NC State last night.

I have no words for it other than Jimbo Fisher is an IDIOT.  His conservative play calling for the last two weeks has almost cost FSU two road games at night.  FSU pulled it out against USF, but against NC State … all he could say in his post-conference was “We didn’t do this…”  “We didn’t execute this…” and ‘we, we, we…” … No Jimbo – it’s more like YOU, YOU, YOU. I’m so pissed off about it I could scream for days on end … if I had the strength to do so.

One thing I know for sure: Jimbo Fisher is NO Bobby Bowden. Coach Bowden always took responsibility for a game like we witnessed last night.  He laid blame on the players when they didn’t follow the game plan, but he never tried to wrap it up in a “We” package.

The only responsibility Fisher took for the travesty of a game HE called was, “We have to coach them better…”  other than that it was “we, we, we…”  The most important thing Jimbo Fisher needs to know is that he cannot play against ANY teams with his Sunday School conservative play calling.

These same teams – given the chance (and in the past they had their chance and blew FSU out of the stadiums whilst we were down those five seasons) wouldn’t think nor blink twice about running the score up without any mercy.  So, I’d say this … Dear Jimbo: Please turn to page 2 of your playbook.  – Sincerely, The Seminole Nation

Nobody and I mean nobody is going to be ‘nice’ to FSU on the football field.  They’re not going to take a knee – as Chris Thompson did against USF at the end of the game … they’re going to score, score, score and score some more!

So, for the sake of your own job, our players and the fan base that seemed to be coming back … LET’S PLAY OLD SCHOOL FSU FOOTBALL AND TAKE IT TO EVERY SINGLE TEAM WE PLAY!  The little slogan you have, “It’s Our Time” needs to really mean something – so make it mean something.  Because I’m already – and it’s only been 12 hours since we lost to NC State – reading about how FSU was overrated.  Is FSU overrated? I think we’ll know by seasons end if that assessment – being made by the usual suspects – can stand on its own.

I still believe FSU can polish off the rest of their regular season with wins over everyone — including Florida.  And yes although I’m still pissed off from last night, I’m still over here bleeding Garnet & Gold … because I’m a Seminole. Period. 🙂

No, I’m not going to talk about the first Presidential Debate between Mitt “the 47% I don’t care about” Romney and President Obama … all I can say about any of it is that Hillary Clinton would have made a better choice four years ago and yes, right now.  Hillary 2016. 🙂  And that is all I have to say about that.

So, on to the telly scene … Once Upon a Time didn’t disappoint!  The spell broken, but the purple haze and Mr Gold’s secrets … There isn’t much one can say about last weeks season premiere other than it left me wanting more.  There was one moment when Regina seemed to be at the mercy of the crowd and whether she’d live to see another day.

So, tonight, we learn about what happens when anyone tries to leave Storybrooke. Which brings Barbara Hershey back for a guest appearance as Regina’s oppressing mother, Cora.  I hope they keep it tightly wound — because that’s what keeps me coming back for me each week!

And of course, now to The Real Housewives of New Jersey (RHoNJ) … yes, I know, but I like it – what can I say? After last week’s reunion (part one of three), now more than ever, I am Team Everyone, except Teresa.

Anyone who has watched the show can truly see just how low Teresa will go to keep the upper hand.  One thing I have always been taught is that those who’ve passed and cannot defend themselves are off limits. But apparently that rule, as well as a bajillion other rules, do not apply to Teresa.

Although there were lots of great moments like … “Sit over there in your Christmas Pageant dress and shut up!” … “Spell Napalm … she can’t spell it because she doesn’t know what’s in her blog because she doesn’t write it…” and “Three rolls of blubber … ” — perhaps the best moment is when Rosie hears Teresa talking about her deceased father … I loved watching Teresa leave skid marks on herself as Rosie proceeds to tell her she’ll kill her for crossing the line.  Priceless. Ahhh, look it’s in pageant green! 😉 LOL!

Apparently there’s now a third part … which we never heard about before and so, I’ll just say this: Ladies and gentlemen, please fasten your seatbelts, sit back and relax because this ride is about to get CA-RAY-ZEE. 🙂

At long last Bedlam has returned to BBC … although, Jed Harper (Theo James) is no longer on the show – as is most of the original cast … I’m going to still give the show a chance.  The first episode of the S2 was hard to watch because … well, the original cast is gone.

It seems that with Jed’s untimely death (for some reason, I don’t remember him dying in the S1 finale – anyone else?) passed his gift on to another young lady, Ellie (Lacey Turner) and she’s made her way to Bedlam – oh, yeah – that’s changed as well.  So, we’ll see how it goes … and if I continue to watch.

As for some of my regular favourites … The Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, Major Crimes and Hex continue to keep me happy!  Oh, I almost forgot  Last Resort … for me, the jury is still out on this show.  I like the premise of the show and I was captivated for the first two episodes, but we’ll see if I remain captive. 🙂

It’s fall people and depending upon where you live … you either have the great weather or you’re still roasting.  The best weather is mid-to-high 50s – just chilly enough for a nice FSU hoodie and fun activities outside!  I love late October and Halloween, but it’s not my favourite time of the year … that’s coming really soon — sooner than I want it to come! 🙂  I guess I probably should get busy working on my 2012 Christmas CD … since I always start November off with Christmas music! 🙂

Hope everyone has a great week! 🙂

Shalom,

that proverbial bridge you’ve heard tale of…

Let me say, again, that therapy is so worth your co-pay and time. I cannot even begin to tell any of you just how incredible it is to be clear, focused and on point in the midst of a storm of lies. It’s like it’s all in slow-motion – you know, like a Bruce Lee action shot.

Of course, the fallout after such a storm usually involves regret. This post, however, isn’t about regret at all … it’s the exact opposite of regret: standing your ground because you’ve had enough.

One thing 99.9% of the people, that truly know me, will tell you is that I am laid back and I’m nice … until you give me a reason NOT to be nice. I think the absolute BEST thing to come out of therapy [ a/k/a my journey back to my own happiness ] is that I will not idly sit back or stand by and allow my name or character — or for that matter, that of the people I love and care about … be trampled by someone attempting to save face.

And that proverbial bridge that you’ve heard tale of … You know – the one that connects two people – I watched it burn and fall into oblivion.
Now for the telly recap … It seems that the season finale of the RHoNJ is going to be the tipping point and not in favour of Teresa. I’ve tried to read comments on Caroline’s blog on Bravo’s site; however, I get frustrated after a while.

I’m amazed, and not in a good way, about how many people seem to think that what Teresa said in her cookbook was a joke. The big question is … would Teresa have been laughing? I think we all know the answer to that question.

Anyone with an ounce of common sense would realise that nobody but Teresa and her delusional fans are laughing.

I never found one thing funny about it and I don’t think you can offer a sincere apology when you “think” you’ve done nothing wrong.

Yes, I know — I am watching this show full of drama, but I like watching someone tell it like it is … maybe I channelled a little Caroline earlier this week? 🙂

You know, I’m kinda into Major Crimes now … I think perhaps it’s because I’m – you too? – seeing a softer, more likeable side of Sharon Raydor … and I think she’s become accustomed to Rusty and I think she might even like being his stand-in “Mom” … the writers have me hooked and so, for now, I’m staying put.

Last week’s episode was heart-wrenching because of the fact that the kidnapped teens never had a chance from the onset. While it’s not The Closer, it’s still the same team — well, almost.

And now, FSU enters the start of their ACC schedule with Wake Forest coming to Doak Campbell. I’m excited. I’m nervous. I’m ready.

You’d think I’m playing in the game! I’m just anxious because it’s been a while since there’s been this much excitement around the Seminole Nation.

Although Wake Forest is not going to be a cake-walk — at least not at the start if FSU plays their game –the true test comes when Clemson roars into Tallahassee next weekend. Let me assure you, there is no love lost between FSU and Clemson. Next to Miami and Florida – Clemson is the other one. And if your a Seminole, you know exactly what I’m talking about!

With Boyd, Watkins and Ellington … FSU will definitely have their hands full; however, I think being at home and well, with such an experienced line on both sides of the ball … FSU will take it to Clemson. I am ready to see a Clemson massacre!

I know one thing for sure, I’m feeling better and better every single day … and most definitely, absolutely, 100% …

Here’s to a great weekend!

Shalom,

P.S. Ain’t that the truth?! 🙂

… absolute RANDOM moments of weirdness …

It’s official … Life is, in fact, good (click on the logo above to be taken to the actual Life is Good site to buy their way cool stuff) … it’s better … it’s back to normal and I couldn’t be happier … its been a long, long while since I haven’t felt like I was constantly having to walk on egg shells in my professional life.  And it’s apparent to my family and friends that I’ve turned the corner back to being the “old, but great, Bryce” … so, that makes me 🙂  a lot lately!  Other than regaining my passion about education, I’ve done nothing even remotely exciting, but that will all change soon enough!

Okay, let’s jabber about two of my fav reality shows … RHoNJ — loved the fact that Caroline met with Danielle (hereto forthwith known as “The Staubster”) and tried to bring reality to her little dream world – unfortunately, you just cannot help crazy people.  Of course, I’ve heard – from an extremely realiable source that The Staubster was released from her contract … even though she was good for stirring the pot (not that I like crazy people drama) and it was good for ratings — she’s a loose canon with her past, current association with felons and well, delusional thoughts of gradeur.  I’m betting that Dina comes back (wink-wink) and it’s either Kim “G” or Kim D filling the spot of the certifiable, delusional Danielle. 🙂

Real World: New Orleans … I said it a while ago — Ryan is Trouble – yes, with a capital “T” … And his whacked out behaviour has NOTHING to do w/ any OCD — I can speak confidently about that since I do, in fact, have a background in psychology.  If I had to guess … I’d say he is bi-polar.  He’s had too many “I’m a happy guy” to “I’m the Devil himself” moments and just absolute RANDOM moments of weirdness — that’s classic bi-polarism. Hands down.  And he’s heading home … sources plus clips of the next episode point to that fact.  I think the house will be a much better place without him there.  If it doesn’t happen, Bunim-Murray Productions and MTV should be ashamed of not getting him out of the house for some serious help.

I’m totally ready for college football season  — GO SEMINOLES — SCALP’EM!  And of course, the US Open … so ready for Rafa Nadal to conquer the hard courts in Flushing Meadows and bring home the US Open Men’s Single Crown!  So ready for my sport season to kick back into high gear!!!!!!!  Can I get a woot-woot!

Okay, now I have to go get brekkie with friends … maybe I’ll post more later this weekend! 🙂  Hope everyone has a great time at weekend!

Laters –

as if I didn’t know this from previous experience(s)…

Pollen. My worst enemy at the moment. Seriously.

Those of you who don’t have to deal with allergies … bee thankful. 🙂  Yes, I spelled it that way on purpose.  Everywhere I go – pollen is OUT OF CONTROL!  Of course, it would help if I were to stay on schedule and get my allergy shots every week, but my life pace is faster than a speed bullet train trying to break the world record … I allowed my allergies to get out of control and then – as if I didn’t know this from previous experience(s) – my sinuses decided they’d have a field day – pun intended!  At this point, I am starting to get well … my doctor called in some prescription drug reinforcements.  So, hopefully, within a few days, I’ll be back to being – me. 🙂

So, let me ramble a little bit about … the Real Housewives of NYC (RH0NYC) and the Real Housewives of New Jersey (RHoNJ).  Yes, I know some of you are saying – why do you watch those shows?  No, it’s not because I like drama – I despise it; however, it’s interesting to watch how things play out … For example, I weeble-wobled w/ Jill for a while because I just thought she was overreacting … but I think things are going to play out even further to show that Jill had EVERY RIGHT to be upset w/ the way Bethenny treated her … as for Alex – she’s a complete “I’ve been in the shadow, but now I need all the attention I can get” individual — lost all respect for her; as for Big-Eyed Psycho Ramona – I had her number last year — she’s an instigator and a complete freak; Kelly … the jury is still out on her – although her loyalty is something going for her right now; however, she doesn’t make sense sometimes when she talks; Luann – ahhh the Countess … I am on the fence with her … sometimes I like her and other times, I don’t.  I am definitely for Team Jill right now.

Now, crossing the bridge over to New Jersey … I called it last year – early on – about Danielle Staub – she’s a PSYCHO.  Who organises a luncheon to honour their daughter’s achievement and NOT have her daughter or friends there to celebrate with? Seriously.  That was the biggest self-pity party I’ve ever seen in my life … she’s certifiably a lunatic.  I know that Jacqueline is going to see the light … it won’t take Dina long to be like, “Uhmmm, she’s a lunatic” and well, Caroline never tolerated her for a minute.  If I knew Caroline, I know we’d be good friends — we’re very similar in nature in how we assess people.  There’s no judgement at the beginning — it’s merely taking inventory of someone and getting the vibe(s) about someone … the judgement only comes into play when the individual forces that hand.  Ahhhh, therapist talk! 🙂  This is going to be an interesting season w/ the girls!

Matt Smith is the new Doctor Who

As for other telly … Fringe – as always – kept me engaged, but now it’s off for a while … I’m getting used to the new Doctor Who on Doctor Who – let’s face it – there will NEVER be another Doctor Who like David Tennant – seriously.  As for Glee, I’d say it’s okay for now … the best episode since its return was The Power of Madonna (go figure) … Just waiting now for the summer premieres of The Closer and Leverage … also, Beautiful People is back as well in June!  It seems like I watch lots of tv; however, I don’t … just a select few shows!

And now, the sad news … my good friend Lee lost her mother this past week. 😦  My heart is so heavy right now.  And, Law & Order has been officially axed – after 20 years – from the NBC line-up.  I’m hoping TNT will pick them up!  We’re in the NBA playoffs … my beloved San Antonio Spurs didn’t make it — they were SWEPT by the boys from Phoenix — so now, I’m throwing my support behind the Orlando Magic — I think they can beat the Celtics in six. 🙂  My Seminoles are going great in baseball … ranked #9 and playing really well here at the end — I’m happy about that!  College football season is just 3.5 months away PEOPLE! I’ll be so glad when Saturdays become a day when I do nothing more than (1) travel to Tallahassee to see my ‘Noles play @ Doak Campbell Stadium | Bobby Bowden Field or (2) watch football ALL DAY LONG on the telly!

Well — nothing else to talk about … well, plenty, but I’d get really upset if I talked about the oil spill in the Gulf and how irresponsible BP and the Obama Administration have been w/ that entire situation … so, since I’m trying to reduce stress in my life and get well faster, I’ll just let you all decide how I feel about that entire situation!  Hope everyone has a great weekend!
