Ahhhh life …

Hocus Pocus - Whaaaaat

Tis’ October … and yes, it’s been a while.  And no, Halloween isn’t my favourite holiday, but it’s second.  I’ve already watched Hocus Pocus — uhmmm, three times. Yes, three and it will happen more. 🙂  And whilst I’ve been gone, WordPress has upgraded itself and wow, I can post gifs … without my Photobucket account! 🙂

Will & Grace -- Jack & Karen Jumping up & down

When you’re not well – you have way too much time on your hands to think about things, people and places.  You can let that consume you or work through it — and move forward from things, people and places that just aren’t for you anymore.  I’ve been on this journey, actually, since May 2014.  And honestly, it was rough for a while, but now … well, now things are settling down … and I’m starting to be back in a good place. 🙂

Let me just start off by saying, I need to belong to NA.  Wait for it … I know what you’re thinking, but you’re not right … I’m talking about Netflix Anonymous. I get a huge Vizio Smart TV — and now, I’m insane with Netflix and Amazon Prime … I’m not even going to touch Hulu!  Right now my obsession on Netflix is THE ORIGINALS.  Just started S2 — and I just watch and watch and watch and watch … you, get the picture, right?

I’m glad college football season is back and I’m glad to be back in Tallahassee for one of our first big games this season … we play Miami tomorrow night.  It doesn’t matter if any of our arch rivals are ranked or unranked, losing or winning … these games are ALWAYS hard fought … just glad we’re at Doak Campbell this year!  We have a young, young team on both sides of the ball and well, Golson hasn’t really impressed me completely … hoping Sean gets a chance to throw the ball tomorrow night. 🙂

So, the Republicans have done everything they can to destroy Hillary, but their repeated attempts have failed – miserably.  They forget that Hillary has had to fight her entire life and has been dinged constantly from all sides … she’s a survivor, a fighter and tells it like it is … I’m so proud to be a part of her campaign!  The Grand Old Party .. ain’t so grand anymore!

And, that’s about all I’m good for tonight … I’ve missed scribbling down my thoughts – so, my goal is to be back at least once per week — yes, I know, I know – you’ve heard that all before, but truth is — this little bit of scribbling has lit the fire again!

Everyone have a great weekend … and GO SEMINOLES!

Hugs –

Bryce

Ready to GIG the Gators!  About to step out of the RV and start tailgating!  Everyone have a great Saturday! 🙂

Scalp’em Noles!

knocking it out of the ball park

When you’re on the road back to happiness … you can certainly learn a lot about yourself – if you allow yourself to do so! 🙂  I’ve always been fairly tolerant, patient and well, a whole list of things one might expect of themselves.  And for the record, that’s not me saying that — it’s my core group of friends who say that to me here and there.

More and more, I’m hearing them tell me that the “old Bryce” is back.  Of course, who is the “old Bryce” I ask them.  And for this, they had a list yesterday whilst we tailgated before the FSU-Clemson game:

  1. You’re laid back again … thank God!
  2. Silly, silly, silly … it’s the best part about you!
  3. Laughing more than you have in a long time!
  4. Eyes are peaceful.
  5. You’re singing again and it’s awesome to hear you sing.
  6. I don’t dread seeing you. :::WOW::: [honesty is always a hard medicine to swallow]
  7. Giggles, giggles and more giggles.
  8. Spontaneous and not so uptight.

Sometimes, your friends are the best therapy and well, therapists out there.  I guess #6 caught me off guard, but I get it.  When you’re miserable — well, your good friends know it and they can sense it.

Even if your trying to fake it through a smile and laughter — apparently, the eyes are the dead give away that things aren’t all they appear to be.  It’s always nice to know that people recognise what you’ve been working on and that you’re knocking it out of the ball park. 🙂  And so the journey continues …

“I face the day again.  Against the window pane. I remain your closest friend and wish you back again.  But still the days drag on.  Why did you decide to go?  Did you only need to see what only time can show?   I’ll be waiting. I may be young or old and gray … counting the days.  But I’ll be waiting and when I finally see you come, I’ll run when I see you …” – Amy Grant, The Prodigal

So, there was this game in Tallahassee yesterday.  Holy cow, FSU is seemingly on the road back to being the ‘old FSU’ … and I have to say, I’m loving the maturity of the entire FSU football team … from the coaches to the players.

This year, there isn’t this one-track mind of the National Championship – instead it’s a ‘one game at a time’ mentality and that, for the record, brings about the best FOCUS!! 🙂  And I must say that it was nice to see Doak Campbell packed beyond capacity for the game. I can only imagine that the team completely feed off the energy of the crowd from start to finish.

I never doubted that we wouldn’t win the game, but I’ll just say that I’ve no fingernails left (I tear them off — no biting) because I “ripped” the ends of them off during the entire first half.  I was anxious beyond words, but knew the game wasn’t out of reach so long as the original plan wasn’t abandoned.

My friend Jeff and I were talking about how Chad Morris, Clemson’s offensive coordinator,  would eventually run out of different looks for Florida State’s defensive line.  And that breakdown occurred in the early part of the 3rd Quarter.  And Mark Stoops, stepped it up after the half.

I think we saw EJ Manuel grow up a lot during the second half of the game and of course, I think a confidence — not arrogance — has been vested now by the entire coaching staff and the team.  I truly am excited about what the future – beyond this season – holds for FSU! 😉

Needless to say, once EJ & Co. got rolling, the Seminoles … well,  five touchdowns later, with 0:00 and FSU 49  Clemson 37  blaring on the scoreboard …  the fireworks whizzed high above Doak Campbell and the Marching Chiefs went ‘crazy’ with the War Chant!  And if you’ve yet to figure it out … this ‘boy’ bleeds Garnet & Gold, baby!

The next three weeks are going to be absolutely, undeniably insane and although I don’t think I’m ready for everything that’s going to happen (not that any of it is bad, mind you!)  … I know that it’ll all be okay because a higher power sustains me! 🙂

And with that being said, it’s time for me to get myself on task before my night completely slips away!

Hope everyone has a great, great week …

Shalom,

that proverbial bridge you’ve heard tale of…

Let me say, again, that therapy is so worth your co-pay and time. I cannot even begin to tell any of you just how incredible it is to be clear, focused and on point in the midst of a storm of lies. It’s like it’s all in slow-motion – you know, like a Bruce Lee action shot.

Of course, the fallout after such a storm usually involves regret. This post, however, isn’t about regret at all … it’s the exact opposite of regret: standing your ground because you’ve had enough.

One thing 99.9% of the people, that truly know me, will tell you is that I am laid back and I’m nice … until you give me a reason NOT to be nice. I think the absolute BEST thing to come out of therapy [ a/k/a my journey back to my own happiness ] is that I will not idly sit back or stand by and allow my name or character — or for that matter, that of the people I love and care about … be trampled by someone attempting to save face.

And that proverbial bridge that you’ve heard tale of … You know – the one that connects two people – I watched it burn and fall into oblivion.
Now for the telly recap … It seems that the season finale of the RHoNJ is going to be the tipping point and not in favour of Teresa. I’ve tried to read comments on Caroline’s blog on Bravo’s site; however, I get frustrated after a while.

I’m amazed, and not in a good way, about how many people seem to think that what Teresa said in her cookbook was a joke. The big question is … would Teresa have been laughing? I think we all know the answer to that question.

Anyone with an ounce of common sense would realise that nobody but Teresa and her delusional fans are laughing.

I never found one thing funny about it and I don’t think you can offer a sincere apology when you “think” you’ve done nothing wrong.

Yes, I know — I am watching this show full of drama, but I like watching someone tell it like it is … maybe I channelled a little Caroline earlier this week? 🙂

You know, I’m kinda into Major Crimes now … I think perhaps it’s because I’m – you too? – seeing a softer, more likeable side of Sharon Raydor … and I think she’s become accustomed to Rusty and I think she might even like being his stand-in “Mom” … the writers have me hooked and so, for now, I’m staying put.

Last week’s episode was heart-wrenching because of the fact that the kidnapped teens never had a chance from the onset. While it’s not The Closer, it’s still the same team — well, almost.

And now, FSU enters the start of their ACC schedule with Wake Forest coming to Doak Campbell. I’m excited. I’m nervous. I’m ready.

You’d think I’m playing in the game! I’m just anxious because it’s been a while since there’s been this much excitement around the Seminole Nation.

Although Wake Forest is not going to be a cake-walk — at least not at the start if FSU plays their game –the true test comes when Clemson roars into Tallahassee next weekend. Let me assure you, there is no love lost between FSU and Clemson. Next to Miami and Florida – Clemson is the other one. And if your a Seminole, you know exactly what I’m talking about!

With Boyd, Watkins and Ellington … FSU will definitely have their hands full; however, I think being at home and well, with such an experienced line on both sides of the ball … FSU will take it to Clemson. I am ready to see a Clemson massacre!

I know one thing for sure, I’m feeling better and better every single day … and most definitely, absolutely, 100% …

Here’s to a great weekend!

Shalom,

P.S. Ain’t that the truth?! 🙂
