Live from Tallahassee, FL …

HEY GATORS!  HEY GATORS!  WE JUST BEAT THE HELL OUT OF U! And to top it all off, Maryland gives FSU an early Christmas present by beating NC State … now, FSU is headed to the ACC Championship in Charlotte next Saturday!

…demand my money back because you’re delusional.

Florida State 30 Maryland 16 - Christian Ponder alludes Maryland defenders and gains a first down on FSU's last touchdown drive.

Once again, Florida State took it to the end of a game — at least this time it was Maryland fighting to stay in the game.   These are growing pains … they are necessary, but I hate them and the stress it brings.  Of course, reading some boards today, I found this comment from a Gator fan posted on an article about the FSU win over Maryland … the background:  The Seminoles are ‘happy’ with their current 8-3 record:

What, exactly, is this Gator fan smoking?  I can guarantee you that it’s not legal.  Granted, the ACC hasn’t had the best year in football; however, to suggest that “If FSU doesn’t beat the Gators this year, they quite possibly never will” – Really?  gatorman2k1 step away from the pipe slowly.   As a Seminole, I’m happy with FSU’s record this season … 8-3, 6-2  is much better than our past records over the last few years and it’s sure a hell of a lot better than UF’s 6-4, 4-4 … I love the arrogance Gator fans still flout … UF doesn’t have Tebow …  UF doesn’t have a quarterback …   UF doesn’t have the team they had the past four years.  So, if FSU doesn’t beat UF this year, we’ll quite possibly never will beat UF again?  SERIOUSLY?  gatorman2k1: apparently you booked the year long acid trip.  A bit of advice, I’d cancel the remainder of that trip and demand my money back because you’re delusional.  Thank God I know some real Gator fans who understand the game of football and the rivalry who’ve not swallowed the hype pill.

I am much more relaxed since I know that I have the next week off … it helps to know that I’ll be somewhere that I love: NYC! 🙂   Of course, I’m not packed — not even close, but that’ll all happen by tonight … I’ve got some errands to run and some house chores to take care of — so, I better get myself to working now!  Hope everyone has a great week … I’ll try to post stuff whilst on holiday!

LOL. ROFL. ROFLMAO. 🙂  That’s so funny!!!  I wonder who that’s about?  I will confess that I do love only paying $1.89 for a large Vanilla Iced Coffee … at the who — it would definitely cost me $3.99 – so, yeah, my wallet definitely feels so much better when I don’t give that extra dollar and change + a tip ( yes, you SHOULD tip a good barista for a truly exceptional coffee drink — I used to be a barista and I took really good care of my loyal customers!) … I don’t drink coffee that much — I become way TOO ENERGIZED!

Okay, so I love my job … I truly, truly do; however, I am stressed out at the moment because I want need to say some things that need to be said, but I’m just holding myself back … I’m not perfect nor would I ever want to be perfect; however, I don’t feel like I tread on anyone’s territory and right now I feel like I should call out the Bryce Armed Forces to deal with the intruder(s), but no … I choose to remain quiet and pretend that things don’t bother me.  Yes, I’m venting, but I do NOT feel any better right now.  You see, being that I’m not perfect — it means that I hold things in and resentment grows to Defcon 5 status — what this means is that when I go off — there will, unfortunately, be casualties and prolly irreparable harm.  But, enough of that …

No place in the world that can compare!

The bigger and much better news is that I’m going to be back in NYC this coming Monday and I couldn’t be happier!  I will be there with family and friends … that means that I will be extremely happy in the crisp cool mornings … heading off to every single part of the City I can get to so that I can just breathe it all in … there are great places around the world; however, speaking from experience … there is NO PLACE like New York City!  I get all excited when I think about — so, I’ll have to stop typing about it here … there are other places I love as well — but I just have this huge emotional connection with the City … I think it has something to do with Carrie Bradshaw. 🙂

And let’s talk about Florida State’s nailbiter of a last-minute win over Clemson 16-13 … Dustin Hopkins nailed a 55-yarder with 3 ticks left to go!  That win was a really good win for our program who had lost the last two games in the last minute!  Now, we just need to handle our business against Maryland and Florida … and hope that one of the remaining three ACC teams that play NC State beats them and we’re on our way to Charlotte baby!

Okay, that’s it kids … ole TiVO is calling me … yes, I’ve some telly to catch up on!  Hope everyone’s week is going well …

And Bobby Bowden was fired because …

After yesterday’s heartbreaking loss to North Carolina — the second to a North Carolina team I might add — many Seminoles — at least a good number who sit around my group at FSU home games are asking – yet again — “Why, exactly, was Bobby Bowden fired and not allowed to complete one last season at FSU?”  Granted, it looked like things were on the road to improvement — and they might be, but FSU is now 6-3 and cannot finish a game to win it.  The reality is that Bobby Bowden was pretty much a figurehead the last couple of seasons — all the calls were being made by Jimbo Fisher … and who’s making those calls now?  Yeah, the same man who MISMANAGED the timeouts yesterday … with 1:41 to go — he allowed :40 seconds to run off the clock?  What kind of IDIOT does that? Seriously.

If I want to be frustrated, I can do that at home … I don’t need to WASTE my time sitting in Doak Campbell Stadium being upset and then spend the entire trip heading home mad because of stupid mistakes that are just a part of Basic Football 101.  I know FSU cannot win it all back in a season; however, we’re losing our way back to a mediocre season at this point if Jimbo Fisher and his staff cannot find a way to rally around their players — our team — and make them believe that they’ve got what it takes — and that’s the good news — they’ve GOT WHAT IT TAKES to finish out this season at 9-3 — I’ll take that over any other alternative that lies in wait if FSU doesn’t get it’s gameplan together and quick.

I said all that to say … Letting Bobby Bowden finish out this season would have made no difference and why fire the man who built the legacy that is Florida State Football — a legacy that cannot be reclaimed in one season let alone overnight.  I had a great week … it was good, nevertheless, to see old friends at Homecoming at FSU and get to catch up!  I’ve let the 37-35 loss to UNC go — it’s not worth getting angry over a game.  I’ll always be a Seminole – no matter what! 🙂  Looking forward to a great day today … relaxing after I run some errands … 13 days until I’m in NYC for Thanksgiving week … so excited to be heading back! 🙂
